When I am having a down day or forgetting about my many blessings in life, I look to my garden for my recentering.
Last Easter I received a potted Easter Lily as a gift. After the lily was done blooming, I transplanted it to my front garden in the late spring and crossed my fingers that maybe –just maybe–this plant would take hold and re-bloom. And wouldn’t you know that just a few days ago, this lily began to bloom. The Easter Lily has provided prolific, fragrant blooms.
Its trumpet like flowers ring out beauty and hope in a world that oftentimes seems hurtful and ugly. My effort is to make my corner of this world a little better–a little kinder–to cultivate beauty and generosity of spirit where ever it may take root.
