Roles in life: Wife, mother, friend.
Through these roles, I have learned much about parenting, patience, cooking, budgeting, and in the midst of all this– the importance of laughter. Living in a household with five kiddos, three pets and one husband, I am currently a stay-at-home-mom, who is entering the world of blogging. (What I hope to be my side hustle.) I have a degree in English Literature and finally putting pen to paper– so to speak. Raising five kiddos has taught me countless lessons and I am now eager to write about these experiences: from parenting, to feeding a large family and experiments in cooking, to a relatively new found love of gardening and an old hobby that has given me peace through chaos–running.
Much of what I love centers around my Irish heritage–my dad was born and raised in Wicklowtown, County Wicklow, Ireland, and had a great love of his home country and town, (which he instilled in me) even though he was forced to leave his home for economic reasons. My dad immigrated to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where he met my mom at an Irish dance, and eventually settled here and had a family. Now I raise my family here. I look forward to sharing what I have learned, as a daughter of an immigrant, as a wife, as a mother and friend. And equally as important, I look forward to learning from readers and fellow bloggers to make this blog a great resource for food, family, home and health. This is a great new adventure and I can’t wait to see where this path leads.
